Planning and activities are heating up (no pun intended) for the 50th Anniversary Celebration.
The Snowrunners Snowmobile Club put together an awesome float for the Port Washington Fish Day Parade and we showed off to thousands of people throughout Port telling them we are coming in January. The excitement in the air was electric!
I’ve also met some past Bolens Employees this past month that have incredible stories and memories to share. Genuine people with 20 years, 30 years, even 40 years of service! Wow! I met John Seyfert who had 46 years at Bolens! Double Wow!
Tom Wellnitz (another past Bolens Employee) and I have been working with the city, businesses, Park & Rec and others to set up a great venue for January. We even put together a little Youtube video for the event. Check it out here – Bolens Diablo Rouge 50th Anniversary
Even the local Ozaukee Press jumped in to action putting a press release out for the event! Check out the Antique Snowmobile Club of American and also the Anitque and Classic Snowmobile Club of Canada as they are promoting the event too.
If you are a past Bolens employee, please help us get the word out to everyone you know who might be interested in this event. A special “Thank You” to you all for your enthusiasm.
It’s time we ask what people are interested in come January. We have an idea of events to plan, but we want to hear from you first.
– When are you coming for the weekend and what would you be interested in doing Friday/Friday night?
– What would you like to see and do on Saturday at the Upper Lake Park?
– What would you like to see and hear about at the Saturday Night Banquet?
– Are you interested in doing something on Sunday?
Now would be a great time to give that feedback and you can send those comments to me at bruce@gogodiablo.com.
Banquet costs are still being determined, so thank you for being patient with that. With the additional opportunities to attend several events, we will consider discount options for attending multiple venues.
To have room for what we expect is an expanded attendance, we have maxed out the block of reserved rooms at the Country Inn and Suites. If you plan to attend and are pulling a trailer, this hotel is your best option as it has plenty of room in the parking lot.
If you are even just thinking of coming, but not sure yet, it costs nothing to reserve a room or tell me you plan to come to the banquets. So please do not put this off.
Making hotel reservations at the
Country Inn and Suites in Port Washington is simple. The hotel is offering rooms at significantly reduced rates (double occupancy rates of $79 for a standard room and $99 for a one bedroom parlor suite) . The banquets will be in the Lakeview Conference Center which is at the hotel. When making reservations by calling
1-262-284-2100, request your room be part of the Bolens Diablo Rouge 50th Anniversary block.
If you book your rooms in July or tell me directly in July that you are coming to the Diablo Rouge Banquet, I will get you and your guests their allotted “7” Prize Tickets (see past Newsletters if you do not know what I am talking about regarding the Prize Tickets). There are still a few days left to get those 7 tickets.
If you are new to this Newsletter and want to get caught up on the previous Newsletters, go to the Newsletters Page on the website. If you know someone who wants to sign up for the Newsletters, they can do that from this page also.
Our Sponsorship has been out of this world. Check out our sponsors at the Sponsor Page of the website.
Please let me know if you have questions. Make your hotel reservations with the Country Inn. I will presume if you are staying at the hotel, you plan to come to the banquet. If you are local to the Port area and not staying at the hotel, make your banquet reservations with me directly.
Thank you with all my heart to all those working hard to put together an awesome event and hope to see many of you in Port this January!
