Bolens Diablo Rouge 50th Anniversary – November Newsletter

Hello Hus Ski and Diablo Rouge Owners,

Just a few short months before we celebrate! Wow, we have been whole heartedly planning this event since the spring and it’s amazing how fast is it approaching. If you have not already, please circle the weekend of January 14th on your calendars and plan to join us in Port Washington, Wisconsin for a weekend of fun!

Keep an eye out for publications sharing our event details. American Snowmobiler, Wisconsin Snowmobile News, Top of the Lake Snowmobile Museum, ASCOA, ACSCC, and others are spreading the word! Overall, the response to this event has been fantastic. We have people coming from Alaska to Newfoundland and all across the US. I have a lot of little details to share, so please bear with me.

First, not due to a lack of effort, but an official “Bolens Event” on Friday night will not happen. The good news is we have expanded our Friday plans to include a longer trail ride to a gathering at a local establishment for drinks/snacks, and then back to the hotel. There has been questions about the need for registration and insurance on our vintage sleds and we are making plans such that those will not be needed.

The Snowrunners Snowmobile Club is working hard to have a great stage set in Upper Lake Park on Saturday from 9 till 3. Port Yamaha and SnowDog are putting together display areas (now is your chance to try that new SnowDog Snowmobile!). During the morning, the VIP Showcase Hus Skis and Diablos will be on display along with other cool things to see and do. A group picture and short trail ride are planned for the afternoon. Very Important - If you are a local enthusiast planning to come to the Saturday event in the park only, please shoot me an email and let me know so we can help the Snowrunners Snowmobile Club plan for food. If you are going to the Grafton Annual Christmas Parade on Saturday, watch for the Snowrunner’s Float!

For the VIP Showcase of Hus Skis and Diablos, we are still looking for a few models to fill in the gaps.
– Hus Ski Snowtraveller
– Hus Ski 200
– Hus Ski 600 Single Track
– Hus Ski 600 Double Track
– Any model of Bolens Sprints

If you have a model noted above that you would show, please contact me in the next week or two! If you have a Hus Ski or Diablo that is really unique like a proto-type, mod upgrade or other and would like to show it, please let me know that too.

The plans for the Saturday Evening Banquet are coming along nicely. The meal catered in by Saz’s is going to be awesome, presenters are working hard to put together an interesting evening and we have a bunch of great prizes to give away. Note - if you have some Hus Ski and/or Diablo memorabilia to show, we will have tables set up to do so. Please bring whatever you can. Price is $35/person and we guarantee it will be worth every penny.

Check out our Sponsors! They have done a great job financially supporting the event, supplying prizes for the banquet and spreading the word. Also check out our Newsletter page to get caught up on past details.

For those in the hotel, we have reserved the banquet hall for Sunday morning so that you can grab your excellent continental breakfast from the Country Inn & Suites breakfast area and then join us in the banquet hall for some additional collaboration and fun.

The 50th Anniversary Caps are in and people say they are awesome. They are $20 if you pre-order and pay or $25 at the banquet. For an additional $5, we will add your name on the temple of the pre-ordered caps. The deadline for caps with names is December 10th.

You can pay for your banquet seat and caps by sending me a personal check in USD or I can send you a paypal request that you can pay with paypal or a credit card.

I’ve had a number of people mention that they may have to wait till a year in the future to attend one of our gatherings, so I have decided to let you know now that I expect this to be the final event of such. We have been gathering every year for the last 10 and it all is building to this big event that will have no equal which is why we are all working so hard to put on a great venue. If you have not committed yet, please consider joining us for this historic event.

A few rooms are left at the Country Inn and Suites. Should they sell out, the other hotel in town is the Holiday Inn Harborview.

Making hotel reservations at the Country Inn and Suites in Port Washington is simple. The hotel is offering rooms at significantly reduced rates (double occupancy rates of $79 for a standard room and $99 for a one bedroom parlor suite) . The banquets will be in the Lakeview Conference Center which is at the hotel. When making reservations by calling 1-262-284-2100, request your room be part of the Bolens Diablo Rouge 50th Anniversary block.

Please let me know if you have questions. Make your hotel reservations with the Country Inn. I will presume if you are staying at the hotel, you plan to come to the banquet. If you are local to the Port area and not staying at the hotel, make your banquet reservations with me directly.

Thank you with all my heart to all those working hard to put together an awesome event and hope to see many of you in Port this January!
