Hello Bruce:

We are Norm and Nancy from a small North Eastern Ontario Canada town called Cochrane. We are sending this e-mail to say thank you. Thanks to you and your great and informative web site in GoGo Diablo and to thank the many contributors to the forum. Quite often when there is only one guest on the forum it is probably Norm Ha! Ha! Here is our story.

Norm is a founding member and secretary/treasurer of one of our snowmobile clubs called Cochrane Classic and Vintage Riders. We are both a riding club and a small museum of approximately 50 machines awaiting a new building (hopefully summer 2012) to house over 100 machines of different brands and years. After one of our recent vintage rides, Nancy having driven her classic Yamaha Enticer (20 yrs old) mentioned she would like to drive an antique next time. So a few nights later when Norm was surfing Vintage Sleds.com where he had found a snowmachine of his dreams a 1974 Sno-Jet Thunder Jet 340 F/A, he came across a 1968 Diablo Rouge. Calling Nancy over to show her the machine she got all warm and fuzzy and said a childhood neighbour of hers use to have one and he would give her and her siblings rides. Norm pipes up “would you drive this?” and she said right away “yes”.

The machine happened to be in Ontario about 7 to 8 hour driveĀ from Cochrane and approx 1 1/2 hours from where Norm had bought his Thunder Jet. A call was made after researching the Go Go Diablo web site for more information. A call was also made to Norm’s best friend to see if he wanted to come for a ride and he answered “Now what did you buy?” Upon arriving at our destination, Norm was blown away with the condition of the Diablo and gave the asking price without haggling which is a rarity with Norm. The machine was purchased from Peter M. who I believed had dealings with you in the past. He did a great job re-building the Diablo, but as you probably know old things need parts and a little TLC. Whether it is our bodies or our vintage riders Ha!

Thanks Norm and Nancy for sharing that story and a beautiful Diablo.
